From the Les Papillons campsite, you can easily discover characterful villages such as Charroux, labelled “Plus Beau Village de France”, or Ébreuil and its local markets. Let yourself be seduced by the medieval castle of Chouvigny, or by the spa town of Vichy, famous for its springs and elegant architecture.

For history lovers, Objectif Auvergne offers tours such as the Panoramique des Dômes, which bears witness to the region’s volcanic and cultural past.

Cultural visits in the Allier

Don’t miss the Val de Sioule Tourist Office to discover the painted churches of the Bourbonnais region,Chantelle Abbey and the Bellenaves Automobile Museum.

Campsite near Gorges de la Sioule and Chaîne des Puys

Our family campsite is ideally located for exploring the natural Auvergne. Just a few minutes away, the Sioule Gorges offer impressive landscapes, hiking trails and water sports (canoeing, kayaking).

The Forêt des Colettes offers long walks under tall trees and mountain bike trails. Further afield, the Chaîne des Puys and the Puy de Dôme are within easy reach for a day out: volcanic panorama, unique biodiversity, panoramic train or marked trails.

  • Charroux medieval festival: immerse yourself in history with re-enactments, street shows and children’s workshops.
