Welcome to David and Frédérique’s family campsite in Lalizolle
We are David & Frédérique, the new owners and managers of this family campsite in the Auvergne.
We decided to settle in this beautiful region of the Auvergne, in the Allier department, in Lalizolle, a small commune of around 400 inhabitants.
Previously, we worked in various fields (video surveillance, IT, administration, accounting for him, medical, social, quality assurance/safety and hygiene, auditing for her. We offered home organizing. For the past 2 years, David has worked as an all-rounder at a campsite in Switzerland.
We’re also motorhome enthusiasts and know the camping scene well, having been to over 100 campsites and driven almost 22,000 km in 2 years, in Switzerland and France. We loved this world.
From the moment we met in 2021, we had the idea of one day running a campsite. This dream finally came true. At the end of 2024, we had a financial opportunity and we threw ourselves into this challenge, this new life, this new country, this new job.
And that’s when it all started… lots of administrative formalities, lots of communication and exchanges with our broker, our future banker, insurance companies, suppliers, preparation for the move, leaving our jobs, our families and our friends behind. Well, we’re only 5 hours away!
Our challenge began on June 6, 2025, when an inventory of the campsite showed us that we were going to have to roll up our sleeves, ask for advice, bring in professionals and have some very very very very busy and long days.
We’re delighted with the very positive initial feedback from our little campers, and will continue to put all our energy into welcoming our customers to a pleasant, family-friendly, well-maintained and clean campsite.
There’s also a snack bar where David prepares pizzas, aperitif platters, paninis, sausages and French fries, burgers and French fries, as well as serving cocktails and soft drinks, and ice creams of course!

For your convivial evenings, we have two braziers with a view of the Puy-de-Dôme! For their well-being and the respect of all, we ask you to keep them on a leash, to pick up after them, and not to leave them alone in the accommodation. A suitable space, a few toys and lots of cuddles are enough to make them feel as comfortable as you do at our family campsite in the Allier region.

Waste sorting
At the entrance to the campsite, we have three types of container.
- Green: glass containers without caps.
- Black: household waste
- Yellow: recyclable waste

Insect hotel
The insect hotel is a house with several chambers adapted to each insect that protects the garden.
These little houses provide shelter for insects, ensuring effective pest control in the vegetable garden and orchard. A natural method that eliminates the need for chemical treatments.
Certain insects are our allies in the fight against pests. To repel aphids, psyllids and slugs, it’s best to be well surrounded.
Tenants are numerous and varied. The different compartments ensure greater diversity. Butterflies, bumblebees, wasps and ladybugs can all be part of the mix.

Treat yourself at the campsite snack bar
In July and August, the snack bar at this family-run campsite in Auvergne awaits you every day! On the menu: burgers, paninis, aperitif boards, French fries, sausages, and on certain evenings, home-made pizzas prepared by David. For a snack or a refreshing drink after family activities and entertainment in the Allier region, ice creams, crêpes and drinks are served on the terrace in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

We have a small grocery store at the campsite reception for emergency supplies or in case you forget something: pasta, canned food, cookies, cleaning products, etc.
For more comprehensive supplies, there’s a grocery store in Echassières (5 min), a small store and a farm store in Ebreuil (10 min) and several shops in Gannat (20 min).
You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to cooking or discovering local specialities!
